The triple crown winner put on a show this season.

San Jose State's Nick Nash deserves the Biletnikoff Award

Prior to 2024, only three players in FBS history had ever won college football's receiving triple crown (catches, yards, touchdowns):

  • Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree (134-1962-22 in 2007)
  • Alabama's DeVonta Smith (117-1856-23 in 2020)
  • Western Kentucky's Jerreth Sterns (150-1902-17 in 2021)

You can add San Jose State's Nick Nash to that exclusive club after his 104-catch, 1,382-yard, 16-touchdown season. Nash built on a spectacular 48-728-8 line in 2023 by essentially doubling his output, becoming a Biletnikoff Award finalist in the process. Not too bad for any player, let alone one who spent his first three seasons at SJSU as a quarterback. I've had the privilege of watching Nash play in-person multiple times since I'm about 20 minutes from SJSU's campus, and it's been a treat watching him progress into a star. I've made my thoughts on wanting Travis Hunter to win the Heisman clear, but I'm just as adamant about Nash winning the Biletnikoff. See for yourself why I'm so fired up about the season he had:
