Video: Kimani Vidal X Chris Lewis 2023 Highlights
Merry Christmas! My present to you is this two-pack highlight reel I just finished of two of my favorite players to watch this season, who both happen to play for Troy.
The first is of running back Kimani Vidal. Vidal finished the season –as of the time I'm writing this– as the nation's leading rusher with 1,661 yards, overtaking Oklahoma State's Ollie Gordon II in the Trojans' Birmingham Bowl loss to Duke. It was a historic season for Vidal, who set the school record for career rushing yards (4,010), gained 1,862 total yards, scored 15 touchdowns, set a single-game program record with 248 yards rushing against Stephen F. Austin, scored five touchdowns in the Trojans' Sun Belt Championship win over Appalachian State, and won Sun Belt Offensive Player of the year. Vidal recently declared for the 2024 NFL draft.
The second video is of the Trojans' big play threat, Chris Lewis. Lewis transferred in from Kentucky and was one of the most explosive receivers in the nation, finishing second nationally in yards per catch (22.97), with 735 yards and 10 touchdowns on just 32 catches. Lewis also threw a TD, and had as good a collection of spectacular catches as any other receiver I watched this season. He announced that he's returning to Troy in 2024.
