If I had to guess where my deep-seated admiration for running backs and running the ball in general comes from, my first answer would be the 2001 and 2002 Colorado Buffaloes. I've spent plenty of posts telling you about my childhood going to CU games and how that shaped my college football fandom. The way the 01/02 offenses played is a pretty good indicator of why I am the way I am now:

The duo of Chris Brown and Bobby Purify spent two full seasons together slicing through defenses behind a pulverizing offensive line who made sure both had plenty to eat:

So it's only only right that I include their final game at Folsom Field together, where they combined for 352 yards and two touchdowns - sealing back-to-back Big 12 North Titles for the Buffs in a 41-27 win over Iowa State:
